About Nisbet Plantation Beach Club, Nevis
Built in 1778, this historic plantation was the home of Fanny Nisbet, a woman whose love for her husband – a celebrated Naval hero, Admiral Horatio Nelson – has become legendary. Today, Nisbet Plantation is proud to keep the memory of Fanny alive in this quiet hideaway that’s unhurried, unspoiled, and offers a most uncommon and romantic Caribbean vacation. Walk down to the sea through Nisbet’s “Avenue of the Palms” and explore one of the world’s most unique and romantic resorts. So unique in fact, it was recognized by the world-renowned Andrew Harper’s Guide to Peaceful and Unspoiled Places as “The Caribbean Hideaway Resort of the Year!”
Located on 30 spacious beachfront acres on the beautiful island of Nevis, Nisbet Plantation Beach Club was originally built as a sugar plantation in 1778. Despite the property’s size, there are still only 36 elegantly appointed guest rooms to provide an unparalleled sense of privacy and freedom. All guest rooms have been recently re-appointed and modernized to provide a maximum level of comfort throughout your stay. Rooms are located in 16 comfortable Plantation-style cottages and Lanai suites – cooled by tropical off-shore breezes and air conditioning. The cottages are situated on either side of the Avenue of the Palms and stretch from the 18th-century Great House down a two-minute walk to the beach.
As a small resort, we understand that fine dining is one of the most important ingredients of a truly memorable vacation experience – a fact that is known throughout the island of Nevis and beyond. Recognition from such a prestigious travel authority is a source of great pride. It is, however, less important to us than the praise our visitors provide when they sign the Great House Guest Book which is open for everyone to read. There, the only complaint you’ll find is that the choice of tantalizing dishes makes selecting just one so very difficult! Our talented chefs labour tirelessly to prepare innovative dishes that scrumptiously blend traditional culinary disciplines with the authentic flavours of the Caribbean. The result: delicious gourmet Caribbean cuisine is served at three restaurant locations with unmatched personal service.
“Very private,” and “intensely romantic” are some of the most common words our guests use to describe their lasting impressions of this most uncommon resort in the Caribbean.
