Nike Centre For Art And Culture
Nike Art Centre, Lagos, is one of Nigeria’s hidden treasures. Located in Lekki, Lagos, the four-story building compromises of an art gallery and textile museum featuring over 7,000 pieces and soon to have Coffee shop. The Centre has a diverse collection of art by a multitude of artists, celebrating Nigeria’s talent, offering visitors an insight into all cultures of Nigeria through the medium of art. It can take up to a full day to discover all the Nike Art Centre has to offer.
Lekki Conservation Centre
Located in the middle of Lagos, this conservation center is home to abundant plants and wildlife and plays a vital role in preserving the region’s ecosystem. Sign up for a guided tour with transportation included, or you can just as easily hail a rideshare and make your own way there. Take a stroll through the swamp boardwalk and spot rare birds, monkeys, snakes, and crocodiles. The park is also home to the longest canopy walkway in Africa, offering 360-degree views from above the treetops. If you’re afraid of heights, fret not—crossing this suspended walkway is optional.
Beaches
Unwind at this remote and sheltered beach that’s close to Lagos harbor. Only accessible by boat or water taxi from Lagos Island, this secluded beach is quiet and calm, making it popular for swimming and water sports like jet-skiing and water skiing. While the beach is pretty isolated, there’s still plenty to see and do—you’ll find locals selling souvenirs, drinks and snacks, and even offering horse rides on the beach. At sunset, you can also walk over to the nearby West Mole for awesome views from the breakwater. You’ll want to spend a day here but you can also join a Lagos beach tour that will take you to all the best beaches in town, including Tarkwa Bay.
Park Vega Waterpark
The largest water park in West Africa. A member of IAAPA (International Association of Amusements & Attractions) and WWA (World Waterparks Association), Park Vega is now officially the first international standard water park in Nigeria and West Africa.
Freedom Park Lagos
Freedom Park is a memorial and leisure park area in the middle of downtown Lagos in Lagos Island, Nigeria which was formerly Her Majesty’s Broad Street Prison. It was designed by the architect Theo Lawson as a speculative project under the CIA-Lagos in 1999.
